Wind Turbines for Schools
What Size Wind Turbine is Appropriate for Schools?
As if you didn't already know, schools are large consumers of electricity. The electric load of a typical school could cost justify the installation of a WES 250 kW wind turbine. Sometimes an Entegrity 50 kW or multiples of our smaller Re-Driven 20 kW would be a better fit for the surrounding community. The size of the wind turbine for your school can depend on many factors. EPS can help you find your best use of energy and determine what size wind turbine is right for your school.
What Does a Wind Turbine Cost?
A WES 250 kW wind turbine for a school can be installed for less than $790,000 and that price can be reduced by a $150,000 grant if eligible.

The installed price for an Entegrity 50 kW wind turbine is less than $250,000 and if you are eligible for a grant, that cost will be reduced by 50%.

A Re-Driven 20 kW wind turbine for your school will cost proportionally less.
How do I Know if My School is Eligible for a Grant?
If your electricity provider is one of the five investor owned electric utility companies, you are eligible for a state grant. EPS can show you how using these grant dollars can make a wind turbine for your school an affordable option. We have a 100% success rate finding grant dollars for school wind turbines.
What is the Life Cycle of a Wind Turbine?
30+ Years. Wind turbines have a life cycle similar to other electrical and mechanical equipment of institutional quality. However, the turbine is only one part of the total system installed. The pole, foundation, wiring and controls have a life cycle even longer.
