Parking lot lights are a large source of energy consumption for many buildings and municipalities. Street lights consume large amounts of electricity for many hours of the day. Wind powered street lights and parking lot lights require no outside electrical source in order to operate, therefore they require no electrical lines to be run to the lights. These lights store electricity throughout the day in a battery pack, and then are capable of running an entire 3 days on a full charge. Money is saved both from the reduction in electricy usage, but also from the reduction in manpower needed for installation of the lights.
